The Furreal Friends kitten gives kids who have been clamoring for a pet a chance to prove that they can handle the responsibility. This soft orange-and-white tabby behaves like a real newborn kitten and requires a child's love and attention to get her to interact. When the power switch is turned on, the kitten starts to wake up by slowly lifting her head and opening her eyes. Petting the kitten every few seconds keeps her awake and she makes realistic purring noises to show that she's content. Constant petting will put this kitty back to sleep but, if the petting stops, the kitten wakes up meowing for more love. If her owner doesn't continue, she'll eventually go back to sleep. The Furreal Friends kitten comes with an adoption certificate and information on where to register the pet online. She has a motion sensor in her back to detect responses and runs on three AAA batteries, which are well hidden (along with the power switch) in a compartment behind the kitty's belly.
